St. Thomas / St. John
![]() St. Thomas, St. John and Water Island, along with St. Croix, make up the U.S. Virgin Islands. St. Thomas and St. John have a rugged mountainous terrain and many harbors and with sandy beaches along the shoreline. St. Thomas has busy ports with many duty-free shops, historic buildings, waterfront views, and some of the best beaches in the West Indies. St. John is the smallest and is the most non-commercial and low key of the islands. This little island is only accessible by boat or ferry just minutes from St. Thomas but the beaches are said to be some of the best in the world. The accommodations on St. John range from luxury resorts/villas to bare site camping, so there is something for everyone. On St, Thomas you have Charlotte Amalie, the capital of the Virgin Islands and the most popular cruise port in the Caribbean. Where the ships dock you can see white and pastel houses heavily sprinkled against a background of emerald hills. From the white sand beaches to the green hills and rainforest there is something to please everyone.
