Kahului
![]() Kahului is located in the central part of Maui, the second largest island of Hawaii. Situated on the north shore of the island, Kahului has the only deep-water port from which Maui's sugar and pineapples are shipped. It's in no way a resort community, but it has the best shopping on the island at places such as the Kaahumanu Center or the Maui Market Place. It also has a few remarkable sites such as the Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum, Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary, Kanaha Beach County Park, and the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. The main attractions to Kahului are less expensive lodgings and a convenient location to the airport.
